THE CHALLENGE

Where the work started.

Furniture sharing was already happening through community posts, but a good find could disappear before someone nearby saw it. Stoop connects discovery, location, and claiming in a single mobile workflow. It was the first product launched by Stoop Inc.

MY CONTRIBUTION

Engineering contributions.

01

Build the whole journey

Developed a native iOS experience for photographing furniture, adding descriptions, attaching locations, browsing nearby items, and claiming finds. Translated product requirements into working interfaces connected to backend services.

02

Connect the map to real-time information

The app brings together SwiftUI, MapKit, and CoreLocation with Firebase Authentication, Firestore, and Storage. These pieces support the practical flow from a photo and location to an item someone else can discover and claim.

03

Carry it through launch

Delivered the app through App Store release and subsequent product iterations. Built the company website and managed operational and budgeting responsibilities within a bootstrapped startup.

04

Put the product in people’s hands

Presented Stoop at Collision 2024 as part of the Alpha startup program. Demonstrated the app and gathered feedback on the discovery and claiming experience.

OUTCOMES

What came out of it.

  • Developed and launched a native iPhone app for finding and sharing free furniture across the GTA.
  • Brought the app to Collision 2024 as a Stoop Inc. Alpha team.
  • Established technical and operational experience that informed ZoningPal, the second product under Stoop Inc.
Shipping the complete loop matters: capture a find, make it discoverable, and help someone act on it. Stoop taught me to keep the engineering anchored to a simple, useful outcome.
